01学院介绍

清华大学环境学科可追溯至国立清华大学于1928年设立的市政工程系，1977年建立我国第一个环境工程专业，1984年批准组建独立建制的环境工程系，1997年发展为环境科学与工程系，2011年成立环境学院。在我国环境工程学科奠基人陶葆楷先生和几代清华环境人努力下，持续保持国内领先优势，国际影响力不断攀升，连续五年qs学科排名进入世界前十，成为环境领域重要的高层次人才培养基地和高水平科学研究中心。

近年来，环境学院牵头建设区域与流域生态环境安全重点实验室、空地一体环境感知与智能响应研究平台(区域复合污染控制、跨介质大科学装置)、清华苏州环境创新研究院(高新科技产业化)等重要科研基地，为学院教师面向国家重大需求和世界前沿研究提供理想平台。

为更好地适应学科发展新形势和人才培养新需求，为建设清洁美丽世界、推动构建人类命运共同体贡献更多中国智慧和中国方案，2024年学院新设环境健康教研所和环境可持续性教研所，现面向全球公开诚聘学科带头人。

03 job description

soe invites applications for full-time, tenure-track or tenured faculty positions at full professor level. the appointments are expected to begin on january, 2025 or thereafter.

the faculty search aligns with the strategic directions of the soe and recognition of the need for addressing critical societal challenges facing the environment and sustainability. applicants are expected to have demonstrated excellence in research, teaching, and professional development. the successful candidates will be expected to develop and maintain an innovative and independent research with international reputation and external funding support. the candidates will also be involved in undergraduate and graduate teaching and mentoring to support the soe’s education mission.

applicants for full professor positions are expected to be global leaders in their respective fields. successful candidates will develop and lead internationally recognized research programs aligning with one or more of the soe’s strategic directions.

04 qualifications

candidates must have a phd in environmental science and engineering or a related field at date of hire.

fluent in chinese is not a prerequisite. all research, teaching, and service activities can be conducted in english.

we seek ideal candidates who have the commitment and capacity to stay at the research forefront or who are emerging as the most influential figures in their fields.
